Home/Too many photos
Thousands of photos on your phone? You don’t have to sort them.
Every guide to camera-roll overwhelm gives you the same homework: delete the duplicates, trash the screenshots, build folders, tag faces, a few hundred photos at a time. It works about as well as it sounds. The pile wins because sorting is a chore with no ending and no reward.
Skip the sorting. Keep the story.
Roon takes the library you already have. Rooney organizes your moments into chapters with names — built from the dates, places, and words already attached to your photos — and notices the patterns across years that you’re too close to see. You never make an album. You never rename a file.
And when you want one specific moment later, you don’t scroll. Ask for it by person, place, time, or what’s in it — the beach week, the dog as a puppy, the last summer at the lake house — and Rooney finds it.
the honest part
You still take the photos. Rooney does the remembering.
The average person takes about 2,100 photos a year and looks at almost none of them again. The problem was never taking them. It’s that a camera roll is a pile, and a pile is not a story. Roon turns the pile into chapters your family will actually open — and, every January, into a Year Film you watch together.
Start free: your first 150 memories fully told, room to store 2,500. If the story keeps growing, the full plan tells 6,000 memories when you join. More on preserving family photos for good.
plain answers
Questions, answered straight.
Do I have to delete duplicates and screenshots first?
No. Bring the camera roll as it is. Rooney works from what’s there — the screenshots and receipts mixed in with the first steps are part of how real libraries look, and the chapters are built from the moments that matter.
How do I find one specific photo again?
Ask by person, place, time, or what’s in the photo. Rooney organizes everything it keeps, so a memory is findable by the way you’d describe it out loud — not by the date a file happened to be saved.
How many photos can Roon hold?
The free Start plan has room to store 2,500 memories. The Roon plan has room for 25,000 photos plus 300 minutes of video, and Forever has room for 60,000 photos plus 800 minutes. If your story outgrows its room, more starts at $3 a month — added only when you need it.
Will Roon make me organize anything myself?
No folders, no tags, no albums to build. Your only job, if you want it, is answering the occasional gentle question by text — and unanswered questions never expire.
We're building this with a small group of families first.
Roon isn't open to everyone yet. We're letting in a limited first group — people who'll help shape it, get in at founding pricing, and keep that price for as long as they stay. Add your email and we'll be in touch as spots open.
You're on the list.
We'll email you the moment a spot opens. Thank you for wanting this to exist.
