Home/Give Roon as a gift

Give them their own story, kept.

The hardest people to buy for are the ones who’ve stopped wanting objects. What grandparents who have everything actually light up about is the family itself — the grandkids’ years, their own stories finally asked for. What new parents need is not one more blanket; it’s someone keeping the days that are about to blur.

The two gifts that work

Give Roon to new parents. Their library is months deep, so there’s no mountain to climb — the prompts start at the beginning and the story builds itself from the photos they’re already taking. And the giver is included as a contributor: you don’t just give the gift, you keep receiving the story all year, and your own answers and photos become part of it.

Give Forever. One payment of $749 — no subscription, no bill ever landing on the recipient, and legacy handoff included, so they can name who inherits the story someday. It is the cleanest gift we make: give it once, and it never asks them for a card.

The fine print, in plain sight

  • Gift time starts at redemption, not at purchase — a gift bought in November for a May baby loses nothing.
  • Founding pricing: the Roon plan is $99 a year per family (or $12 a month); founding families pay $599 for Forever, first 200 only, and founding families keep these rates for as long as they stay.
  • Renewal notices go to the giver. If a gifted year ever lapses, the family’s story stays viewable and exportable — never deleted, never held hostage.

occasions

Mother’s Day. Father’s Day. A baby on the way.

This is the shelf where memory gifts already live — it’s the category’s biggest season for a reason. Roon fits it honestly: for a grandmother, it’s her stories, recorded and kept; for new parents, it’s the baby book that fills itself in. plain answers

Questions, answered straight.

Can I give a subscription without the recipient ever being billed?

Yes. The giver is the billing owner; renewal notices come to you, not them. Forever is even simpler: one payment, and no bill exists afterward at all.

When does the gift year start?

At redemption. The recipient starts their year when they’re ready — after the baby arrives, after the move, whenever — not on the day you bought it.

What do you give grandparents who have everything?

Their family, kept. A grandparent given Roon becomes a contributor to the story: their photos, their answers to questions about their own life, their voice in the chapters. It’s a gift they participate in all year rather than shelve.

What if the recipient doesn’t use it?

Then nothing is lost and nothing is charged again without you. A lapsed family story stays viewable and fully exportable forever — we never delete a family’s story for non-payment.

We're building this with a small group of families first.

Roon isn't open to everyone yet. We're letting in a limited first group — people who'll help shape it, get in at founding pricing, and keep that price for as long as they stay. Add your email and we'll be in touch as spots open.
